Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty
Overview / Procedure FAQs / Post-Operative Instructions
More than any other part of the body, the abdomen is often the area most visibly affected by pregnancy or significant weight gain. Once abdominal muscles separate in the midline and excess skin is generated, any number of sit-ups and abdominal tightening exercises will not correct these anatomical changes.

The Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty) procedure addresses the three layers of the abdomen, ultimately cinching the waistline and smoothing out and tightening the overlying skin. To achieve this, the paired abdominal muscles are realigned, the excess skin and fat below the level of the belly button is removed, and the skin above the belly button is then released and pulled down tight resulting in a tighter, flatter tummy. The hip-to-hip scar is designed to be hidden in the bikini line and any scar around the belly button is generally well-camouflaged.
