One of the first people you’ll meet when you visit Atagi Plastic Surgery or BESANA Health & Wellness is Emily Eads, our patient services coordinator. Emily sits at the front desk and checks you in for your treatments. She also loves to answer all your questions and help you have the best possible experience with us! We asked Emily a few questions about her job and also picked her brain for some
insider beauty tips!
Q: What is your favorite part about your job?
Emily: Getting to talk to and know our patients. I also love when we see those patients on a regular basis! It makes me realize how much they trust our office and appreciate everything we do for them.
Q: Do patients make certain “mistakes” that can be easily avoided?
Emily: I don’t know if it’s really a “mistake,” but I find a lot of patients who are new to the world of aesthetics who tend to get very overwhelmed by all the treatments and procedures we offer. I always like to let a patient know that a consultation with one of our providers is the easiest way to start! Let the professionals guide you and recommend which treatments would be best for you.
Q: If you could give patients one piece of advice, what would it be?
Emily: Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen! 😊 It’s one of the easiest things a patient can add to their everyday routine for preventative maintenance. I’m always shocked by how many people I meet who don’t regularly use sunscreen. I’ve made it a part of my morning routine, and never go a day without it! During the fall/winter, I like to wear MelaShade™, and during the spring/ summer, I like EltaMD® tinted UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46, as it is lighter. I think wearing sunscreen is a small thing each person can do, and it can make a huge impact for what our skin will look like later on. When looking for a sunscreen to purchase, patients should make sure their sunscreen has zinc and/or titanium in it. These are the physical blocks we need to prevent sun damage. [Side note: We carry so many amazing sunscreens! Our medical-grade skin care lines are oil-free and multi-tasking with results-driven ingredients like antioxidants so you can enjoy a wide range of complexion benefits in addition to sun protection! We’ll help you find the perfect sunscreen for you during your next visit!]
Q: Which treatments have you had and which ones are you hoping to do?
Emily: I’ve done dermaplaning, microneedling with chemical peel or platelet-rich plasma (PRP), BBL™, MicroLaserPeel®, Profractional™ laser skin resurfacing, laser hair removal, Botox®, lip filler, Ultherapy®, BTL Vanquish ME™ non-invasive fat reduction and Exilis Ultra 360™ skin tightening. I’ve pretty much tried it all!
Q: What makes Atagi Plastic Surgery special?
Emily: What makes our office special is the fact that we treat the “whole” patient. We don’t just focus on the outside, but also how a patient feels on the inside. For example, if a patient is struggling with stubborn fat, they may come in and meet with Dr. Atagi about the Vaser® Lipo procedure. She might recommend that patient to also see our functional medicine doctor [Dr. Messer at BESANA Health & Wellness] or our hormone replacement providers [Susan Eichorst, PA-C and Becky Barkey, NP] to make sure they receive the best results with a lipo procedure. We want our patients to look and feel their best!
