About Upneeq at Atagi Plastic Surgery & Skin Aesthetics
If you’ve noticed that you’ve started to look more tired in recent years due to your upper eyelids drooping, you may have acquired ptosis, commonly known as low-lying lids. Most often seen in older adults, low-lying lids occur when the muscles in the eyelid stretch and weaken, thus causing the upper eyelid to droop. Thankfully, Upneeq® is here to help! This promising new treatment can lift your lids in as little as two hours with once-daily use. Upneeq is free of preservatives and formulated with hypromellose, an ingredient that helps reduce irritation in the eyes.
Benefits of Upneeq
As the only FDA-approved prescription eye drop for acquired ptosis, Upneeq can provide quick relief from low-lying lids, allowing you to look more awake and alert. Patients see an average of about 1 mm of lift in their upper eyelid following treatment. In addition, low-lying lids can obscure your eyesight and even reduce your field of vision. Upneeq can help you treat these symptoms by lifting the lids and restoring your field of vision in the process. In clinical trials, Upneeq demonstrated three times greater improvement in the patient’s visual field after treatment.
FAQs: Upneeq in Denver, CO
How do I know if I have low-lying lids?
Low-lying lids, or acquired ptosis, can vary in severity. Some patients may experience acquired ptosis in just one eye, which makes it a lot easier to determine if you do, in fact, have low-lying lids. In milder cases, the lid may only droop a little, with more severe cases obscuring the pupil entirely. You may sense that the very upper field of your vision is being blocked or notice achiness and soreness around the eyes. Low-lying lids are caused by weakness in the muscle that raises the eyelid, a symptom which can become more prominent with age. Low-lying lids may also be caused by genetics, eye surgery or an underlying medical condition.
How do I know if Upneeq is right for me?
During your consultation, our expert team will assess your health history, the condition of your eyelids and other factors to determine if Upneeq is the right treatment for you.
How often should I use Upneeq?
You should apply one dose (one eye drop) once a day in each affected eye. Do not exceed the daily dosage.
When will I see results?
It’s possible for some patients to notice their eyelids lift in as little as five minutes. In most clinical trials, patients saw an improvement in their eyelids as quickly as two hours after application. It all depends on the person and the intensity of their ptosis.
