It’s no surprise that we’ve experienced pent up demand for injectables, largely due to our temporary closing for COVID-19 this past spring. While we’ve been working hard to help you achieve your aesthetic goals in a timely manner, we were inspired to post a few treatment tips to help make your life easier and maximize your time with us the next time we see you!
Injectable tip #1: Book your treatments a year in advance, if possible.
As you know, injectables provide age-defying benefits for a relatively predictable amount of time. Once your benefits fade, it’s time to get another treatment. Botox®, for example, typically lasts up to four months. Voluma®, an injectable to help fill and lift the cheeks, can provide up to two years of benefits. Since we have a general idea of when you are likely to need your next treatment, it makes sense to schedule it in advance so you have access to the times that are best for you. Procrastination is the worst thing you can do when it comes to injectables. The worst case scenario is that we can’t fit you in when you need to be seen. Another possible complication is squeezing in a treatment too close to a special event, which means you are not allowing yourself any time for side effects like swelling or bruising to fade and for your fillers to fully settle.
Injectable tip #2: Commit yourself to the process.
Some people dabble in Botox or dermal fillers, scheduling an injectables session every few years or so when they feel inspired. There’s nothing wrong with this approach, but if you want the biggest bang for your buck, so to speak, you’re better off keeping yourself on a regular injectables schedule. The thing about injectables is that they provide buildable benefits. While your results will fade, some rejuvenation still lingers, and your next session often requires less product than the one before to give you the same results. Injectables are clinically proven to stimulate new collagen growth, which could be a factor in buildable benefits. What we know for certain, however, is that the more you do, the less product you need to maintain your results.
